Course Objectives:
– Upon completing the MSK Imaging Essentials course participants will:
– Understand the key foundational concepts of diagnostic X-ray and ultrasound imaging
– Understand the risks of subjecting patients to radiological studies
– Understand the common radiological and ultrasound evaluations of the musculoskeletal system
– Understand the clinical indications, contraindications and limitations of diagnostic Be able to integrate diagnostic x-ray and ultrasound into clinical practice
– Gain the necessary skills, knowledge and competencies to apply to roster with their regulatory college for the controlled act of ordering diagnostic X-ray and ultrasound if permitted
Pre-requisites: This course is open to all licensed Physiotherapists in Ontario with or without prior experience in ordering imaging. All content is delivered on line so a reliable internet connection is essential.
