Course description

Participants will be trained how to assess for common myofascial and articular dysfunctions affecting the cervical and thoracic spine as well as the ribs 1-10. You will be trained to perform mobilizations / manipulations of these regions to meet the Alberta standards for authorization in these restricted practices. Theory including treatment indications, contraindications, safety considerations, spinal anatomy and biomechanics will be reviewed. All participants will be provided a comprehensive manual and a thumb drive reviewing all the techniques learned. You will also be provided mentoring opportunities and invited to attend practice sessions for future courses. This course can be combined with the lower quadrant course for authorization to perform spinal manipulation in all regions.
